 Great design is born from the ability to turn constraints into opportunities. In this project, we navigated the complexities of a steep rock outcrop site and a strict BAL-FZ (Bushfire Attack Level) rating by adopting a 'Less is More' philosophy. By utilising a simplified rectangular form and a prefabricated steel portal frame in a 3.2m bay grid, we achieved structural repetition, significantly optimising build costs.

Smart site management was central to our approach. Rather than installing expensive, intrusive retaining walls on the steep slope, we integrated the car parking directly beneath the main structure. 

With 12.4m of northern glazing, the home is bathed in light and offers panoramic views of the forest. An 'indoor-outdoor' living philosophy where the entire top level functions as an expansive verandah, this home invites the outside in, creating a serene, immersive living experience. The result is an architecturally striking home that remains cost-effective, durable, and perfectly in tune with its environment.
